Mt. Abram Ascent
The Mt. Abram Ascent is back! This classic mountain climb takes racers up 2-miles of mowed ski trails to the summit of Mt. Abram where you'll have dramatic views of the Western Maine foothills. The descent will begin on ski trails and end on a section of single-track hiking trail in the woods, before reaching the finish line at the Mt. Abram base lodge.
Curtis Liquors Grand Tasting
Grand tasting with multiple brewers at Curtis Liquors in Weymouth.
The Mount Desert Island Marathon, Half & Relay is North America’s premier destination road race. The award-winning course features miles of pristine terrain passing tranquil lakes, soaring mountains, sleepy Maine villages, and stunning seaside vistas —including Somes Sound, the only fjord on the Eastern Seaboard— all set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Acadia National Park in peak fall foliage season. We'll be there, with beer!
Wife Carry Challenge
The North American Wife Carrying Championship tasks couples with crossing a 278-yard obstacle course--over hurdles, through a watery mud pit, and up an unsteady sandhill--all for the hopes of winning the wife's weight in beer and five times her weight in cash. The 20th annual event will take place on Saturday, October 12, during Sunday River Resort's annual Fall Festival Weekend.
